Minnie Louise Cheek's Obituary
Minnie Louise Cheek, age 81, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at 2:05 p.m. in Pinckneyville Hospital Skilled Care Unit. Minnie was born on January 8, 1926 in St. John, IL, a daughter to Burl and Mary (Holland) Leslie. On September 26, 1942, she married Edgar "Bud" Cheek in Perryville, MO and he preceded her in death on March 28, 1997. She had worked as seamstress at Pinckneyville Garment Factory for several years, was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, and dearly loved her family. Survivors include one son: Raymond and wife Jane Cheek of Pinckneyville, one daughter: Judy and husband Matt Pisut of Gulfport, MS, one brother: Don and wife Carol Leslie of Wedron, IL, one sister: Janet Robinson of Marseilles, IL, four grandchildren: Tim and wife Kim Cheek, Ryan and wife Beth Cheek, Nicole and husband Patrick Seals, and Matt and Kathy Pisut, and six great-grandchildren: Keely Seals, Levi Cheek, Ethan Cheek, Emma Cheek, Gwyneth Pisut, and Evan Cheek. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and one sister. Funeral services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. and then on Wednesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
