MIldred L. Schneider's Obituary
Mildred L. Schneider, age 93, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 9:50 a.m. in Fairview Health and Rehabilitation Center, DuQuoin, IL. Mildred was born on October 11, 1920 in Elvins, MO, a daughter to John and Bessie (Downs) Ivestor. On August 31, 1939, she married Bernard O. Schneider in DuQuoin, IL and he preceded her in death on February 25, 2008 after 68 years of marriage. Mildred was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Pinckneyville, IL and was the former owner and operator of Southern BBQ in DuQuoin, IL along with her sister Maxine Pyle. She attended the Girls Friday Club of DuQuoin, DuQuoin Senior Citizens, DuQuoin Study Club and DuQuoin Womans Club. Survivors include five grandchildren, Renee Ann (Tim) Burdel of Tamaroa, IL, Janie Lee (Buddy) Shute of Pinckneyville, IL, Tanya (Ken) Adamson of Seattle, WA, Casey Walling of Tampa, FL and January (David) Divebliss of Edmond, OK; six great-grandchildren, Tiara, Keenan and Korbin Adamson, Madison Walling, Liam and Harper Shute; a brother, Richard Ivester of DuQuoin, IL; two daughters-in-law, Penny Schneider of Edmond, OK and Cheryl Schneider of Pinckneyville, IL; two nephews, Gary (Jean) Pyle and Kevin (Janice) Pyle; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Rick Schneider and Colonel Jerry Schneider; a sister, Maxine Geistofer and an infant sister. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Joseph Oganda officiating. Interment will be in Elkville Cemetery, Elkville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to donor's choice.
