Mildred Jane Lane's Obituary
Mildred Jane Lane, age 94, of Ocala, FL, formerly of Cahokia, IL, passed away on February 16, 2017 at 4:00 a.m. in Legacy House Hospice, Ocala, FL. Mildred was born on October 24, 1922 in Swanwick, IL, a daughter to John Henry and Libbie Rose (Leming) Bicket. She married Maxwell Lane and he preceded her in death. She was a teacher in Cahokia, IL for 35 years. After retiring she and Max moved to Sun City, AZ before moving to Ocala, FL. Mildred enjoyed playing bridge, fitness activities, reading and sewing. Survivors include her nieces, Teri (Robert) Aguzzi and Vicki (Edward) Wegner and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max; and sister, Daisy (Bicket) Kennedy. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at West Marion Community Hospital and the staff at Legacy House Hospice for their outstanding care and comfort that they provided for Mildred. Graveside services will be held at Swanwick Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Mark Lee officiating. Everyone wishing to attend the service is asked to meet at the cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Marion County, 3231 SW 34th Ave, Ocala, FL 34474. Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL is in charge of arrangements.
