Michael "Spike" Kellerman's Obituary
Michael "Spike" Kellerman, age 66, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 8:38 p.m. in his home.
Spike was born on September 6, 1953 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son of Milton and Theresa (Waier) Kellerman. He worked as a laborer with the Laborer's Local #773 and later as a rural postal carrier in Pinckneyville for the United States Postal Service until he retired. Spike was a member of the St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL and was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer, loved playing pinochle, enjoyed playing softball and bowling on teams for the Knights of Columbus and was a sports history and statistics enthusiast.
Survivors include two sisters, Diane (Ruben) Davis of Pinckneyville, IL and Danette (Scott) Newberry of Islamorada, FL; one brother, Morris Kellerman of Pinckneyville, IL; two nephews, Derek Beninati (Heather Harbison) of Pinckneyville, IL and Taylor Beninati (Kristin Myers) of Pinckneyville, IL; and numerous aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Adam and Ann Kellerman and Walter and JoAnn Waier; his parents, Milton and Theresa Kellerman; and one sister in infancy, Amy Kellerman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Augustine Ibezimako officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Bruno School.
