Merwin Dean Williamson's Obituary
Merwin Dean Williamson, age 79, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 7:56 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital Emergency Room, Pinckneyville, IL. Merwin was born on February 20, 1930 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Jacob and Kate (Gass) Williamson. On September 13, 1948, he married Alice Junette Moss in Pinckneyville, IL and she survives. Merwin was a mechanic all of his life, he was a former owner of Baudison-Williamson Garage in Pinckneyville, IL and retired from Captain Mine as a coal miner. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and the U.M.W.A. Merwin was an outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. Merwin's family would like to thank the ladies from the oncology department who treated them like family. Survivors include his wife: Alice of Pinckneyville, IL, four sons: Joe Dean (Sandra) Williamson of Red Bud, IL, Gerald Lee (Monique) Williamson of Cooper City, FL, Steven Lynn Williamson and Wayne Allen Williamson, both of Pinckneyville, IL, and one sister: Lavon Benedict of Nashville, IL. Merwin was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Luther, Ray and Murrel Williamson and one sister: Lucille Klingenberg. Funeral services will be held in Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Concord Baptist Cemetery, Rice, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and then on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL.
