To the family: Mervin lived a good, long life, and I pray that happy memories will help to bring peace and comfort to you. I remember growing up with him and other cousins at Galum Church, playing piano for the male cousin quartet, writing to him during WW II, and fun at Smith family reunions. Mervin, with Helen later, always had a big smile for us!

I have so many memories of you and your family. You are loved and will be missed by many.
I am one of the many whom Mervin and Helen have influenced by their faith and generosity. I always felt like family when around this godly couple. I know he will be missed greatly, but oh the joy he must be experiencing now as he walks the streets of gold. I am so thankful and blessed to have had known Mervin Smith. He truly was a Godly man that led by example. I will never forget watching him at age 70 water ski, and take his beautiful wife Helen to square dance every week. He showed me that witching sticks really do work, respect the land you live on and the people around you. I was 21 and from the city where people did not really make time for one another, he always made time for people and forever has left an impression on my heart. He never judged or made you feel less then. Words can not express how thankful I am to have known him. Much love and prayers for comfort to all of his friends and family.
