Maxine I. Hays' Obituary
Maxine I. Hays, age 76, of Tamaroa, IL passed away on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 6:10 p.m. at her residence in Tamaroa, IL. Maxine was born October 6, 1932 in Tamaroa, IL, a daughter to Lawrence and Mary (Fisher) Dempsey. Maxine was married on June 8, 1951 to Harold Hays in Pinckneyville, IL, and he preceded her in death on June 21, 2007. Maxine worked for the Secretary of State as a radio dispatcher, and worked for Maid Rite for ten years, she also lived in Rockford for nine years where she worked as a surgical inspector and then was promoted to clerk. Maxine was a member of the Old DuQuoin Baptist Church. Survivors include her son: Brian Todd Hays of DuQuoin, IL, sister: Pauline Halstead of DuQuoin, IL and brother: Wilbur Dempsey of IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter: Stacy Hays, daughter-in-law: Paula Hays, and two brothers: Jess Dempsey and Harold Dempsey. Funeral services will be held at Old DuQuoin Baptist Church, DuQuoin, IL on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Ted Clark officiating. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Monday, September 28, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the Church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Old DuQuoin Baptist Church.
