Mary Anne Romans' Obituary
Mary Anne Romans, age 68, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 5:55 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL. Mary Anne was born on February 17, 1949 in Galesburg, IL, a daughter to Galen Everette and Glenora Anne (Weber) Mitchell. On August 3, 1979, she married Dennis J. "Sarge" Romans in Johnston City, IL and he preceded her in death on November 23, 2010. She was a member and secretary of the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL, a 50 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Roy Miller Post #644, Fairview, IL and an active member of Fairview Order of Eastern Star. Mary Anne was a member of her church choir and also was the church pianist until her health kept her from participating. She enjoyed teaching piano lessons, crocheting, puzzles, adult coloring books and especially loved spending time with her dog, Heidi Nicole Romans. Survivors include her daughter, Shanda Rei Romans of Tucson, AZ; and two half sisters, Irma Matthews of Kingswood, TX and Kathy Jessop of Westville, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis J. "Sarge" Romans; one brother, Donald Mitchell; and one half brother, David Harris. Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Barnett officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, IL. Friends may call on Friday, at First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, IL on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. with Reverend Jim Barnett officiating. Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL, American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of arrangements.
