Mary Ellen Justice's Obituary
Mary Ellen Justice, age 85, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 8:25 a.m. in DuQuoin Nursing and Rehab, DuQuoin, IL. Mary was born on October 7, 1931 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Len and Grace Dexter (Casey) Hartwell. On September 27, 1952, she married Henry B. Justice in Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2009. Mary was a housewife and secretary for DuQuoin Iron Supply for 25 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, DuQuoin, IL. Mary enjoyed golfing, fishing, crafting and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew her. Survivors include her son, James "Jim" (Kellee) Justice of DuQuoin, IL; two daughters, Cynthia (David) Huite of DuQuoin, IL and Susan E. Stratton (fiancée, Marion Keith) of DuQuoin, IL; two sisters-in-laws, Ann Schumacher of Phoenix, AZ and Mary Williams of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren, Alicia (David) Coates of Herrin, IL, Alex Liggett (fiancée, Bridget) of Carterville, IL, Joshua (Amanda) Huite of Murphysboro, IL, Matthew Huite of DuQuoin, IL, Jarrod Justice of Carbondale, IL, Jordee Justice of DuQuoin, IL, Stacy Stratton of DuQuoin, IL, Shari Petty of Pinckneyville, IL, and Stevee (Colby) Siefert of Murphysboro, IL; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wesley James Hartwell and William E. Hartwell; and two sisters, Maxine Lueker and Patricia Brostmeyer. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Lon McPherson officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Perry County Humane Society.
