Mary I. Neal's Obituary
Mary I. Neal, age 83 of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in Fairview Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, DuQuoin, IL.
Mary was born on October 29, 1940 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Merwin Guthrie and Caroline Laura (Feik) Gass. Mary had worked for Ideal Cleners, DuQuoin, IL as a Seamstress for several years. She was of the Baptist faith who loved attending church services and fellowship. Mary enjoyed painting, jigsaw puzzles and word search puzzles. Mary loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her passion was sewing. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her son, Roger (Cindy) Neal of DuQuoin, IL; one daughter, Kimberly Neal of DuQuoin, IL; four grandchildren, Michelle Neal of Benton, IL, Jessica Neal of West Frankfort, IL, Andrea (Jake) Beal of Florida, and William James Neal of DuQuoin, IL; seven great-grandchildren, Lila Beal, Nova Beal, Archer Beal, Jaxon Neal, Arabella Webb, Emily Webb, and Mary Isabelle Webb; one sister, Wanda Rennison of Colorado; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Terry Ray Neal; one grandson, Elijah Dale Neal; one infant sister; one brother, Donald Gass; one brother-in-law, Dean Rennison; one sister-in-law, Doris Gass; and one nephew, John McCurdy.
Graveside memorial services will be held at Concord Baptist Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., with Mary's nephew, Pastor Rodney Gass officiating. Interment will follow the service.
A memorial visitation will be held at Concord Baptist Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
