Mary Geneva Bryant, age 97, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 7:10 a.m. in Fairview Nursing Center, DuQuoin, IL. Mary was born on December 4, 1914 in Cobden, IL, a daughter to Herman Andrew and Mary Elizabeth (Sweitzer) Smith. On June 9, 1937, she married William Walter Bryant and he preceded her in death after 42 years of marriage on February 5, 1980. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, DuQuoin, IL and St. Ann Alter Society. Survivors include her dear friends, Clifford (Marilyn) Lively and many other beloved friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, DuQuoin, IL on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Nick Junker officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL. Friends may call at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, DuQuoin, IL on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Masses. Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL is in charge of arrangements.
