She graduated from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky with a business and education degree and was also a member of the tri sigma sorority. She married the love of her life, John (Jack) Margenthaler in Pinckneyville, Illinois on September 2, 1966, and he survives. She was a high school educator, an administrative assistant to the Vice President at Western Illinois University and then had a long and successful career in Real Estate in Illinois. But the job that brought her the most pride was being the mother of two basketball players and a coach's wife. Coming from a retail family she learned how to shop and shopped well. Wherever they lived, Mary Beth was the social coordinator of the group. Her dream was to live in Florida, and MB always got her way. She and Jack moved to Naples in 2013 where she enjoyed golfing, shopping, walking, spending time on the beach, and making memories with family and friends. Mary Beth was loved by so many and was always the life of the party. She lived life on her own terms and encouraged others to do the same.
