Mary Ann Lazenby's Obituary
Mary Ann Lazenby, age 93, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 2:38 p.m., in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation, Pinckneyville, IL, where she received the most wonderful care and love.
Mary Ann was born on November 2, 1929 in Herrin, IL, the daughter to Lona Mabel (Greer) and Barney Alexander Holloway. On July 18, 1947, she married Jack Lazenby in Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death after 64 years of marriage on June 9, 2011. She was a faithful Christian, a homemaker, a member of New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, IL, and a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mary Ann and Jack enjoyed camping and traveling for many years until his death. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Mary Ann will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her two sons, Steve (Beth) Lazenby of Pinckneyville, IL, and Kent (Linda) Lazenby of Spokane, WA; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Lazenby of Marissa, IL; seven grandchildren, Troy (Ronda) Lazenby, Joe (Amber) Lazenby, Billy (Rachel) Lazenby, Craig (Laci) Lazenby, Matt (Mary) Lazenby, Ryan Lazenby, and Sara (Lance Smith) Chapel; seventeen great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jax, Joestin, Josilynn, Jogan, Emalee, Michael, Coleton, Aiden, Chase, Caulden, Vivian, Jaxon, Zachary, Lucas, Landon, and Charlotte Rose; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Lazenby; a son, Mike Lazenby; one great-granddaughter, Hope Lazenby; five siblings, Carl, Clifford, Douglas Holloway, Mabel Gann, and Fern Milligan; and one step-sister, Betty.
A memorial service will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor James Clardy officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
A visitation will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Perry County Humane Society in honor of Callie.
