Martha Lynn Folden's Obituary
Martha Lynn Folden, age 66, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 at 10:44 a.m. at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Martha was born September 10, 1955 in Pinckneyville, IL, the daughter of Raymond "Fat" and Mary "Babe" Folden. Throughout her life, Martha had worked as a secretary, a caregiver, a foster parent; and she ran her own daycare.
She was a faithful member of the Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and very active with the WMU, following in her grandmother Murna's footsteps. She went on two mission trips to Mexico. She was highly involved in the church Women United Group, and she began the Hope Soup Kitchen. She also volunteered at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
Martha enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her two sisters. She loved to have fellowship with friends and her church family. She was an amazing person who never knew a stranger. Her laugh was loud and contagious. She lived her life serving God and others. She will be greatly missed.
Left to mourn her passing are her three daughters, Carmen Laird, Casey Hawkins and Keyonna Folden, all of Pinckneyville, IL; two sisters, Vickie Folden of Pinckneyville, IL and Treva Montgomery of Springfield, IL; five grandchildren, Chelsie McClain of Benton, IL, Cassidy Boyster Laird (Josh Bowlin) of Tilden, IL, Tyler Rice, Emma Rice, and Caden Hawkins, all of Pinckneyville, IL; five great-grandchildren, Destiny McClain of Pinckneyville, IL, Jayce Chloe and Jackson Bowlin of Tilden, IL, and Draven Wilson of Benton, IL; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gerald Folden; and a brother-in-law, Tom Montgomery.
Funeral services will be held at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Mark Lee officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL immediately following the service.
Visitation will be held at Beaucoup Baptist Church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Covid-19 mandates and regulations will be adhered to.
Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at the church.
