Mark Wallace Wegner's Obituary
Mark Wallace Wegner, age 69, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 8:05 p.m., after a lengthy battle with lymphoma.
Mark was born on July 17, 1955 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Marvin Wallace and Cecelia Marie (Kellerman) Wegner. He worked at Gilster Mary Lee, Steeleville, IL. Mark was of the Catholic faith and a 31 year member of AA. The family would like to extend a special thank you to staff of the SIH Cancer Institute, Carterville, IL for their amazing care of Mark.
Survivors include two sisters, Judy (Dennis) Krumholz of Morton, IL and Pat Ragland of St. Louis, MO; a brother, Matthew Wegner of California; four nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister in infancy, Lisa Marie Wegner; and a brother-in-law, Kent Ragland.
Mark's wishes were to be cremated. A graveside service will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., with Monsignor Thomas Flach officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery.
