Marjorie Ilene Rigdon's Obituary
Marjorie Rigdon, age 86 of Pinckneyville, IL passed away on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. in Heartland Regional Medical Center, Marion, IL. Marjorie was born on June 24, 1921 in Tamaroa, IL, a daughter to Elmer H. and Anna (Reidelberger) Lueker, Sr. On September 27, 1943, she married Elvin "Rig" Rigdon, in Greensboro, NC and he survives. In her lifetime, she had worked at the Pinckneyville Medical Clinic as an office worker for over ten years. Marjorie was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL, taught Sunday school at the church for many years and helped with the church luncheons. She also was the official score keeper for her husbands baseball and softball team during World War II. Survivors include her husband, a son: Bob (Dee) Rigdon of Marion, IL, a daughter: Terry Ashauer of O'Fallon, IL, a sister: JaneTaylor of Rochester, IL and four grandchildren: Amy Reynolds, Erica (Jeremy) Peuscholds, Heather (Mike) Bowman, Kristin (Randy) Hammersly, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: John F. Lueker, Elmer H. Lueker, Jr. and Herbert Leroy Peterson, a sister: Maxine Marlow and a grandson: Josh Terry. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Charles Boling and Bro. Rick Hatley officiating. Interment will be in Pinckneyville I.O.O.F Cemetery. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday, April 6, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and then on Monday, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL.
