Marilyn Jane "Janie" Pickett's Obituary
Marilyn Jane "Janie" Pickett, age 72, of Cutler, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020 in her home surrounded by her family.
Marilyn was born on June 27, 1948 in DuQuoin, IL, a daughter to Clarence and Annabelle (Flure) Hagene. She married Edward Lee Pickett on August 16, 1969 and he survives. Marilyn "Janie" worked at Spartan Printing for over thirty years. Later she worked for Diamond Distributing and Tums. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and family and friends. Marilyn has been a faithful caregiver to her husband of 51 years.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Rhonda (Rob) Ebbler of Percy, IL and Jennifer (Josh) Higgerson of Pinckneyville, IL; three grandchildren, Lexy Ebbler, Jakob and Janey Higgerson; one sister, Dorothy (Jim) Mohr of Pinckneyville, IL; three brothers, Mike (Patty) Hagene of Steeleville, IL, Leo (Diann) Hagene of Percy, IL and Steve (Vicki) Hagene of Pinckneyville, IL; one sister-in-law, Connie (Gary) Rowley of Sparta, IL; several nieces and nephews; four step children, Linda (Fred) Davitz of Chester, IL, Kenneth (Cara) Pickett of Sparta, IL, Donald Pickett of Leadwood, MO and June (John) McManus of Coulterville, IL; twelve step grandchildren and eighteen step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law, Dorothy and Ralph Pickett; one brother in infancy, Anthony Hagene and two brothers-in-law, Charles Pickett and Lawrence Rainey.
Funeral services will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Augustine Ibezimako officiating. Interment will be at St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. A video of the service will be available on the Pyatt Funeral Home Facebook page following the service.
Visitation will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Due to health concerns related to the Covid-19, phase four attendance will be limited, social distancing will be enforced and attendees are asked to wear a mask
Memorial donations may be made to Delta Theta Tau Sorority (Non-Profit organization that gives back to Perry County (scholarships and people in need) or St. Bruno Catholic School.
