Marilyn J. Moore's Obituary
Marilyn Jane Moore departed this life on November 12, 2022, at Pinckneyville Community Hospital, at the age of 82. Her battle with leukemia in recent years shed light on her devoted faith in God, and her remarkable courage and strength while facing challenges with a smile. Her positive outlook on life will be forever remembered by her family and all who loved her.
Marilyn was born on March 5, 1940, in Elk Horn, Iowa, the daughter of Hans and Eleanor (Chrisman) Larson. She was united in marriage to Donald Moore on December 11, 1960, in Aiken County, South Carolina, and he preceded her in death on September 2, 1995. Together they had three children: Gale, Donald Jr., and Kathy.
Marilyn was a notably hard worker, spending thirty-nine and a half years working as a Housekeeper at Pinckneyville Community Hospital. Upon retiring, Marilyn enjoyed attending tractor shows, and riding alongside her partner, Don Eisenhauer, in the yearly Thresherman's parade. She deeply cherished spending time with family, which also brought her much joy as she watched it grow into five generations. Whether she was away at a birthday party or family gathering, she always made certain to return home in a timely manner, so that she could settle in for her favorite evening pastime of televised wrestling with Don, and her beloved dog, Sadie Sue.
Left to mourn her passing are her partner of twenty-one years, Don Eisenhauer of Pinckneyville, IL, her three children: Gale Lindel of Marion, IL; Donald Moore Jr. and wife Debbie of Pinckneyville, IL; Kathy Forys of Hoyleton, IL; twelve grandchildren: Bill (Angie) Keene, Amanda (Lisa) Hill, Eric (Crystal) Hill, Corwin Lindel, Brenna Lindel, Stacey (Josh) Giacomo, David (Cassidy) Welch, John (Haley) Welch, Alicia Moore, Stacey (Grant) Arnold, Kelley Forys, Katey (Jordan) Davis; twenty great-grandchildren: Tamara (Brendan), Kayla, Ariana, Lillian, Chase, Chance, Gage, Jazlynn, Ashlynn, Jesse, Kysen, Riley, Cayden, Bentley, Sophie, Madelyn, William, Liam, Leighton, Stella; one great-great-grandchild: John; brothers: Butch, Bruce, Gary; sisters: Judy, Joy; and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Corkey; a sister, Gloria; a son-in-law, William "Bill" Forys; and a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Hill.
It was Marilyn's wishes to be cremated.
Funeral service will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. A private family inurnment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
