Marilyn H. Craig's Obituary
Marilyn H. Craig, age 77, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 6:30 a.m. in Liberty Village of Carbondale, Carbondale, IL.
Marilyn was born on December 19, 1944 in Baltimore, MD, a daughter to Clifford L. and Hildegard Victoria (Epplin) Poe. On May 1, 1972, she married Minor A. Craig, Jr. and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2015. Marilyn had worked as a stewardess for Eastern Airlines and also helped her dad at the Pinckneyville Plumbing shop. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church, Pinckneyville, IL and treasurer for Right to Life. Marilyn enjoyed traveling, being outdoors and taking care of her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her three sons, Derek (Aarah) Craig, Dustin (Joy) Craig, and David (Emily) Craig; four grandchildren, Raegan, McKenzie, Hudson, and Delaney; five brothers, Roger (Betsey) Poe, George (Nancy) Poe, Donald (Bilin) Poe, Bruce Poe, and Mike (Carol) Poe; two sisters, Angela DeLoach, and Janet (John) Hampton; a brother-in-law, Kenton (Kim) Craig; a sister-in-law, Marsha (Rick) Kuhnert; fifty-five nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Minor; a daughter in infancy, Sharon Craig; and a brother-in-law, Bob DeLoach.
Funeral services will be held at First Pentecostal Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend J. Mark Harris, Sr. and Reverend Duane Bollinger officiating. Interment will be at Swanwick Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
