Marilyn R. Chitwood's Obituary
Marilyn R. Chitwood age 62 of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 8:43 a.m. in Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, IL. Marilyn was born on March 28, 1947 in St. Louis, MO, a daughter to Elbert and Rosemary C. (Kuehner) Losh, On May 12, 1966, she married Burnis Chitwood in Belleville, IL and he survives. Marilyn was of the Catholic faith. She worked at Spartan Printing for 15 years, Universal Printing for 5 years and Walgreen Distribution Center in Mt. Vernon, IL for 5 years. She enjoyed fishing, horseback riding and camping. Marilyn was a loving wife and mother, enjoyed spending time with her family and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Burnis Chitwood of Coulterville, a son, Burnis Joseph Chitwood of St. Louis, MO, a daughter, Shawn M. (Jon) Powers of Sparta, IL, a brother, Jim Losh of St. Louis, MO, a sister, Jan (Ed) Siever of St. Louis, MO, three grandchildren, Amanda Marshall, Gabriel Marshall and Samantha Powers and numerous other dear relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Vern Losh. A memorial service will be held at Loyalty Baptist Church, Eden, IL on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. with Brother Tom Foster officiating. Friends may call at Loyalty Baptist Church on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Marilyn's wishes were to be cremated. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or American Cancer Society. Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
