Marie (Kline) Walters' Obituary
Marie (Kline) Walters, age 86, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 8:19 p.m. in Randolph County Care Center, Sparta, IL.
Marie was born January 30, 1933 in Washington Park, IL, a daughter to John and Anna (Savitsky) Kline. On January 20, 1953, she married Fred Walters, Jr. in Arkansas and he preceded her in death on June 17, 2017 after 64 years of marriage. Marie worked for a dress factory in Marine, IL for three years, studied business at Belleville Area College, Belleville, IL and worked with SIU-E Special Olympics. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and enjoyed gardening. She loved animals, her flowers, and sewing, but most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren, her cat, Alice and her dog, Odie.
Survivors include two sons, Frederick Walters of Pinckneyville, IL and Darryl Walters (special friend, Cindy) of Belleville, IL; one daughter, Carolyn Eickmann (special friend, Paul Morpurgo) of Pinckneyville, IL; nine grandchildren, Brad Allen Walters, Lacey Barnett (special friend, Cory Adams), Tori (Landon) Kern, Tessa Eickmann (special friend, Corey Dahn), Chris Savu, Cassie Walters, Ashley McCoy, Sarah Slaughter, and Bernard Weigel; two great-grandchildren, Vivian Barnett and Rosie Adams; and one sister, Marge (Jeff) Smith of DeBary, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Walters, Jr.; four sisters, Bernice Leirer, Anne Hill, Helen Blazek and Eva Madison; one brother, Joe Kline; one daughter-in-law, Alta Walters; her cat, Alice; and her dog, Odie.
Funeral service will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Mark Lee officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
