Margaret Ann Oestreicher's Obituary
Margaret Ann Oestreicher, age 84, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 12:31 a.m. in her home surrounded by her family.
Margaret was born on January 24, 1937 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Herbert Elsworth and Sarah Ellen (Craig) Wolfe. She married William "Bill" H. Oestreicher on May 14, 1955 at Sacred Heart Church in DuQuoin, IL and he preceded her in death on August 3, 2017. She attended Old DuQuoin Baptist Church and was a member of the Senior Citizen Quilting Club. Margaret had various jobs over the years beginning at Pinckneyville Hospital, cafeteria worker at J.B. Ward and DuQuoin High School, Turco and retired from Wal-Mart fabric department after 20 years. She enjoyed sewing, baking, fishing, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her two sons, Jeff Oestreicher (fiancée Belinda Altig) of Tamaroa, IL and David (Lea) Oestreicher of DuQuoin, IL; two daughters, Mona Hines (Carl Futrell) of Henderson, KY and Diana (Tony) Skidmore of DuQuoin, IL; six grandchildren, Amy, Michele (Steve), Amber (Darren), Brittany (James), Ashley (Andre') and Autumn; and nine great-grandchildren, Brett, Madison, Jordan, Brayden, Macey, Aydan, Auna, Ethan, and Alexander; sister, Mary Lou (Minnie) Nevitt of Springfield, IL; sister-in-law, Marlene Wolfe; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and six brothers, Rodney, Donald, Herbert, Harold, Robert and Merill Wolfe.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Ted Clark officiating. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Due to the Covid-19 virus, social distancing will be enforced and all attendees are asked to wear a mask.
Memorial donations may be made to the Old DuQuoin Baptist Church.
