Maredith McDaniel's Obituary
Maredith McDaniel (Stein) was born February 15th 1946 to Sylvester and Hilda Stein in Pinckneyville, Il. Our adored Maredith May Belle McDaniel passed away Wednesday, June 9th, 2021. As a child, she was raised in Pinckneyville, Il where she graduated from Pinckneyville Community High School. A few years later she moved to Altamont, IL and in 1981 she moved to Merced, CA with World Color Press, where she worked in Human Resources. Seeing a niche in the industry and an entrepreneurial drive, she was the co-founder of Health Tech where she contracted with industry to preform pre-employment physicals. After she sold her business, she joined Central Valley Coalition for Affordable Housing where she worked to her last day.
Maredith was a terrific home decorator, artist, and gardener where many people had the opportunity to tap in to her many talents. She always had an infectious smile and always carried herself with style and grace. She never had anything bad to say about anyone and can always find the positive in any situation.
She was the loving Mother of two children, Daron McDaniel (Buffy) of Atwater, CA and Shannon McDaniel-Knoop (Obbe) of Moraga, CA and Grandmother to Corbett McDaniel, Connor McDaniel and Harper Knoop. She is survived by her "Big" brothers, Frank Stein (Diane) of Pinckneyville, IL and George Stein (Carolyn) of Millstadt, IL. She was preceded in death by her "Big" sister Lavinia Vanetti (Donald).
Family, friends, and others whose lives Maredith touched are invited to her memorial service at Pyatt Funeral Home, 309 South Main St., Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Augustine Ibezimako officiating. A private family interment will be held in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Public visitation will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
