Madelyn L. Hill's Obituary
Madelyn L. Hill, age 72, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 8:45 a.m. in her home.
Madelyn was born on June 30, 1947, in Sparta, IL, a daughter to Rodney David and Elizabeth (Bryan) Montgomery. She married Dale Hill on June 24, 1967 at Coulterville Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL and he survives. Madelyn had worked for Decca Records, Phelps Dodge, Flower Patch, Marsden Dental office and Davison Dental office as Dental Office Manager. She was a member of Pinckneyville Community Hospital Auxiliary and Coulterville United Methodist Church where she was very active and served as a Sunday School Teacher and also served on many committees. Madelyn enjoyed meeting and playing dominoes and bunco with friends, traveling, her grandchildren and being at their school or sport activities.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Dale Hill, of Pinckneyville, IL; one son, Paul (Shelly) Hill of Portland, OR; one Daughter, Laura (Gerry) Whitley of DuQuoin, IL; one brother, Raymond (Edith Ann) Montgomery of Coulterville, IL; three grandchildren, Katrina Whitley (fiancé, Jamie Lance), Olivia Whitley and Nikolaus Hill; one great-grandchild, Easton Lance; one brother-in-law, Rick True of Richview, IL; and numerous close cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Myron D. Montgomery; and one sister, Alice True.
Funeral services will be held at Coulterville United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kimberly Allen officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL.
Visitation will be held at Coulterville United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Coulterville United Methodist Church or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
