Mabel Elizabeth Sims' Obituary
Mabel Elizabeth Sims, age 77, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2008 in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL. Mabel was born on August 26, 1931 in Dexter, MO, a daughter to Herman M. and Lillian P. (Horn) Trotter. Mabel married Walter Ardale Sims on May 4, 1949 in Carbondale, IL and he survives. She was a member of the Christian faith and enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and raising foster children. She loved to write poems and song lyrics. She is survived by her husband: Walter Sims of Pinckneyville, IL, three sons: Walter (Michelle) Sims of Murfreesboro, TN, Charles (Sandy) Sims of Paragould, AR, and David Malcolm of Pinckneyville, IL, three daughters: Louise (Stanley) Mathis of Pinckneyville, IL, Dawn (Mark) Poore of Carterville, IL and Sherry (Timothy) Wall of Chester, IL, one son-in-law: Larry Cantrell of Murphysboro, IL, one daughter-in-law: Judy Sims of Pinckneyville, IL, and eighty seven grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mabel was preceded by her parents, one son: Herman Sims and one daughter: Linda Cantrell. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Murdale Garden of Memories, Murphysboro, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
