Mabel M. Shubert's Obituary
Mabel M. Shubert, age 95, of Eau Claire, WI, formerly of Coulterville, Illinois, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2009 at Luther Hospital. Mabel was born on March 15, 1914 to the late David and Minnie (Taft) Smith in Washington County, Illinois. She was married to Lawrence F. Shubert during the depression and they farmed together until he was called to duty during the war. Mabel was the matriarch of the family who truly loved farming and kept the farm running while Lawrence was away. She loved spending time with her family, quilting, reading and gardening. She is survived by her daughter: Nina Logan of Eleva, WI, two granddaughters: Laura (Dessin) Campbell of Eau Claire, WI and Jennifer Logan of Sun Prairie, WI, great granddaughters: Annabella, Lauren and Kate, nieces and nephews: Dulce Shubert, Michael (Barb) Shubert, Douglas Shubert, Karl Shubert, Andrea Gehrer, Randolph (Paulette) Shubert, Deanna Hacker, Jay (Monica) Shubert, Marshall Shubert, and Joyce Milford and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lawrence, one brother: Arthur and five sisters: Effie, Ellie, Nelle, Ethel and Anna. Funeral services will be held at the Elkton Union Church, Elkton, IL on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Ron Mazander officiating. Interment will be in Elkton Cemetery, Elkton, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
