Mabel C. Woodside's Obituary
Mabel Catherine Woodside, age 88, of Pinckneyville, IL passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:35 a.m. in Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Mabel was born on December 1, 1929 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter of Adolf and Elizabeth (Meyer) Yung. She attended Brush Prairie School and then Pinckneyville Community High School where she graduated in 1948. On March 1, 1952, she married Dean Woodside at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL and he survives. Mabel was as a homemaker, and worked for the Perry County government and in the cafeteria at PCHS. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL where she taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed quilting, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and watching her six grandsons play Pinckneyville Panther basketball. She was the happiest when surrounded by her family which included many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Dean Woodside of Pinckneyville, IL; one son, Gary Woodside of Pinckneyville, IL; one daughter, Diann (Stephen) Priebe of Pinckneyville, IL; two sisters, Eunice Schrader of Pinckneyville, IL and Georgia (Bill) Schrader of Pinckneyville, IL; six grandsons, Lane (Chelsey) Woodside, Jordan (Lindsey) Priebe, Mason (Amy) Woodside, Collin (Erin) Woodside, Miles (Kayla) Priebe and Christopher Priebe; eight great-grandchildren, Easton, Rowyn, Cayden, Anniston, Adaline, Beckham, Jack, and Grace and one baby girl on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister who died in infancy; her brother-in-law, Harold Schrader; and her great-grandson, Brody Woodside.
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Cindy Bean officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorials may be made to Little People of America or Mended Little Hearts.
