Lynnea Marie Owings' Obituary
Lynnea Marie Owings, age 64, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11:06 p.m., in her home, surrounded by her family.Lynnea was born on April 8, 1960, in Canton, IL, a daughter to Cecil Richard and Sandra (Nolan) Ray. On November 4, 1978, she married Danny Owings in the Central Christian Church in Havana, IL, and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1995. Lynnea loved God and was a member at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL, where she taught Pathway for many years. For 11 years Lynnea worked for the Dollar General in Pinckneyville, IL. She enjoyed to be outdoors and making crafts. Her passion in life was being with and taking care of her family. Lynnea will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.Survivors include her mother, Sandra (special friend Jerry Showen) Ray of Fuquay Varina, NC; one son, Richard (Shannon) Owings of Pinckneyville, IL; one daughter, Stacie (Jason) Dunihoo of Pinckneyville, IL; one brother, Kevin Ray of North Carolina; two nephews, Timmy Ray, and David Wilcoxen; two nieces, Jill Nicholson and Penny Young; three grandchildren, Alizabeth (Brandon) Hardin, Alivia (Hunter Atteberry) Owings, and Bradan Dunihoo; and lifelong friends, Rita Welch and Lisa LeMaster. She was preceded in death by her father; husband; one son, Bradley Owings; one sister, Lisa Wilcoxen; one brother, Craig Ray; two in-laws, Ray and Mildred (Perkins) Owings. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. It was Lynnea's wishes to be cremated. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL has been entrusted with arrangements.
