Luanne Williams' Obituary
Luanne Williams, age 73 of Pinckneyville, IL, went peacefully in her sleep to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 3, 2010 in her home. Luanne was born on August 3, 1936 in DuQuoin, IL, a daughter to David R. and Zella M. (Minton) Pruett. Luanne was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Pinckneyville, IL and a 1953 graduate of Pinckneyville High School. She retired from the Perry County Highway Department after 23 years where she worked as an office manager and bookkeeper. Luanne loved playing cards, listening to music and cooking for her family, especially Christmas cookies. She enjoyed friendship, fellowship and a good glass of wine, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Luanne is survived by three children, Richard Williams of Eugene, OR, Amy (Tony) Ortiz and Anne (Jeff) Sronce all of Pinckneyville, IL; a brother, David (Gretta) Pruett formerly of Pinckneyville, IL; a sister, Georgia (John) Uffelman of Murphysboro IL; three grandchildren, Eli Shaw and Audie and Sidney Sronce; her faithful four-legged companion, Charlie; and many dear friends, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Tommy Pruett Williams. Funeral services will be held at the First United Presbyterian Church, Pinckneyville, IL, on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Charles Walden officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and the at the church on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
