Louraine Nowakowski's Obituary
Louraine Nowakowski, age 79, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Monday, November 05, 2007 at 9:35 a.m. in her home. Louraine was born on January 19, 1928 in Tamaroa, a daughter to Leonard and Celia (Nikrant) Szczeblewski. On October 25, 1947 in Dubois, IL, she married Richard Nowakowski and he survives. She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville. She was extremely active in vegetable and flower gardening during the spring, summer, and fall, and during the winter months she enjoyed sewing pieced quilts. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. Survivors included her husband of 60 years: Richard of Pinckneyville, three sons: Rich and wife Monica Nowakowski, Roger Nowakowski, and Randy Nowakowski, all of Pinckneyville, three granddaughters: Sara Nowakowski, Krystal Prusacki, and Jill (Nowakowski) and husband Daron Fox, one great-grandson: Coy Fox, three brothers: Sylvester "Spud" and wife Ruby Szczeblewski of DuQuoin, Bob Szczeblewski of Sesser, and Albert Szczeblewski of Tamaroa, three sisters: Ann Gerstenschlager of Tamaroa, Adeline Pearson of Indiana, and Rita Luetkemeyer of St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Steve Szczeblewski, and James Szczeblewski, and two sisters: Helen Malinski, and Bonnie Szczeblewski. Funeral services will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Jim Nall officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. There will be a prayer service on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno School or to the donor's choice.
