Loren Dale Kennedy's Obituary
Loren Dale Kennedy, age 83, of Trenton, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 5:45 a.m. in Aviston Countryside Manor, Aviston, IL. Dale was born on October 19, 1931 in DuQuoin, IL, a son to Loren C. and Iva (Logan) Kennedy. On November 24, 1950, he married Wilma Brown in the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and she preceded him in death on October 12, 1981. He then married Barbara Erwin on December 22, 1983 in the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and she survives. Dale was a member of the Westgate Baptist Church, Trenton, IL and worked for General Motors, St. Louis, MO as an auto worker for over 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the UAW, enjoyed tending to his yard and loved the outdoors and traveling. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Kennedy of Trenton, IL; a son, Sam (Sue) Kennedy of Waterloo, IL; a daughter, Patti (Bob) Southworth of Belleville, IL; step-son, James (Rose) Stone of Hillsboro, OR; step-daughter, Kathleen Stone of San Diego, CA; sister, Marlene Holloway of Pinckneyville, IL; six grandchildren, Rhiannon (Leo) Chavez of Belleville, IL, Aaron Southworth (Melissa Sheils) of St. Louis, MO, Dan (Kendra) Kennedy of Waterloo, IL, Tim (Kelly) Kennedy of Columbia, IL, Lauren Kennedy of Clayton, MO and Lindsay Kennedy of Clayton, MO; two step-grandchildren, Dominick Stone of Hillsboro, OR and Makenna Stone of Hillsboro, OR; five great-grandchildren, Elijah Reynolds, Annabelle Kennedy, Peter Kennedy, Connor Kennedy and Knox Kennedy; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Wilma Kennedy; and a brother in infancy, Jerry. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Jay Lowder and Reverend Charles Boling officiating. Interment will be in Holts Prairie Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or Hospice of Southern Illinois
