Lona Marlene Holloway's Obituary
Lona Marlene Holloway, age 90, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 9:58 p.m., in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Marlene was born on August 19, 1933 in Tamaroa, IL, a daughter to Loren Carr and Iva Mae (Logan) Kennedy. On August 15, 1953, she married James "Jim" Douglas Holloway in Tamaroa, IL, and after 49 years of marriage he preceded her in death on February 16, 2003. Marlene worked as a secretary for Roe Abstract and Title, Pinckneyville, IL for over 40 years. Marlene was of the Baptist faith and attended First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, IL. She was a member of Delta Theta Tau sorority, loved cooking holiday meals and spending time with her family.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane Marlow of Pinckneyville, IL; one grandson, Daniel Marlow of Pinckneyville, IL; four great-grandchildren, Bryce Marlow of Nashville, IL, Alyssa Marlow of Tampa, FL, Tristan Marlow of St. Louis, MO, and Hayden Marlow of Centralia, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Jim; and two brothers, Loren Dale and Jerry.
A private graveside service will be on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 1:00 p.m., at Holts Prairie Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL, with Brother Rob Mathis officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL.
