Lloyd "Ray" Klump's Obituary
Lloyd "Ray" Klump, age 81, of Elkville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 8:10 a.m. at his home. Ray was born on April 23, 1930 in Makanda, IL, a son to Herl and Irene (Bennett) Klump. On May 19, 1967, he married Nellie Williams Cox at the Old DuQuoin Baptist Church, DuQuoin, IL and she survives. He was a farmer, a member of the Energy Baptist Church, loved farming and collecting antique John Deere tractors, hunting and playing the guitar. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Nellie Klump of Elkville, IL; two sons, Larry (Deb) Klump of Murphysboro, IL and Lloyd Cox of Elkville, IL; four daughters, Brenda (Steve) Warren of Carterville, IL, Becky (Gordon) Burroughs of Elkville, IL, Rhonda (Leroy) Walker of Murphysboro, IL and Beverly (Mark) Ward of DuQuoin, IL; two brothers, William "Bud" (Lois) Klump of Dowell, IL and Eugene (June) Klump of Ajo, AZ; a sister, Barbara McCollum of DuQuoin, IL; fourteen grandchildren, Cindy Warren James, Raymond (Laura) Klump, Betty (Daryn) Klump Roberts, Jeri (Chris) Klump Shaw, Andy (Brooke) Burroughs, Tyler Burroughs, Jessica Walker, Jason (Jamie) Walker, Justin Walker, Robin (Chris) Cox Crabtree, Josh Cox, Cortney Cox, Brittany Ward and Brooke Ward; seventeen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his very special caregivers, June, Sarah, Vickie, Debbie and Patty, to whom the family would like to extend their sincere appreciation. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bob Ward officiating. Interment will be in Tower Grove Cemetery, Murphysboro, IL, Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to VNA Tip Hospice.
