Linda L. Woodside's Obituary
Linda L. Woodside, age 81, of Coulterville, IL passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 8:10 p.m., in Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, IL.
Linda was born on October 7, 1941, in Washington County, IL, a daughter to Phillip and Georgia (McConnell) Sinn. She married Wilmer Gene Woodside on November 30, 1978 in Coulterville, IL, and he preceded her in death on August 10, 2004. She belonged to Grandcote Reformed Presbyterian Church and the Coulterville V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
Linda worked right alongside Wilmer on the farm. She enjoyed cooking and baking, pies were her specialty. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, doing puzzles and word searches. In her younger years, she enjoyed going to dances. Linda loved keeping connected with her father's side of the family (Sinn). Linda was an only child and always dreamed of having a large family. After Linda married Wilmer, all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren agree that she definitely accomplished her dream. She cherished spending time with her entire family.
Survivors include her four sons, Rodney (Amy) Smith of Tilden, IL, Grason (Melissa) Little, Courtney Woodside, and Wyatt Woodside, all of Coulterville, IL; four daughters, Linda Smith (Sandra Gladney) of Eugene, OR; Mary Dunmyer (Todd Weinhoffer) of Pinckneyville, IL; Barbara (Joseph) Chamness of Carterville, IL; and Carrie (Joe) Hand of Coulterville, IL; twelve grandchildren, Maria A. Smith, Valerie D. Dunmyer, Malachi L. Parish, Gage E. "Zeke" Parish, Katie Little, Emily Little, Austin Woodside, Chase Weis, Parker Little, Paige L. Hand, Paityn M. Hand, Hannah L. Woodside, and William A. Woodside; and eight great-grandchildren, Aubrey M. Phillips, Aspen R. Phillips, Audra M. Phillips, Webb J. Reeves, Lyllyian B. Dunmyer, Dannicka S. Diggs, Quinnley S. Reese, and Aaliyah F. V. Reese.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilmer Woodside; one son, William "Will" Woodside; one grandson, Matthew Smith; and one infant sister, Carol Sinn.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim Stark officiating. Interment will be in Swanwick Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL.
Visitation will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coulterville V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
