Lewis L. Price's Obituary
Lewis L. Price, age 85, of Coulterville, IL, passed away in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL, on Monday, September 1, 2025, at 7:55 a.m.
Lewis was born on May 13, 1940, in Popular bluff, MO, a son to Lewis P. and Flora Ann (Payne) Price. On July 5, 1961, he married Billiejean Strong at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Riverside, CA and she survives. Lewis honorably served his country in the United States Airforce during Vietnam and The Korean Conflict. He later worked as a Shop Forman in California for several years before moving to Illinois. After moving to Coulterville, Illinois, Lewis worked as a police officer and for the city until retiring in 2022. Lewis was a great mechanic and handyman who could fix anything. He enjoyed hunting, and spending time raising his children. He cherished his family, especially his loving wife of 64 years.
Survivors include his wife, Billiejean Price of Coulterville, IL; three sons, Alonzo James (Camelia) Price of Killeen, TX, Lewis Pete Price II of DuQuoin, IL, and Eric Vaughn Price of Elkville, IL; three sisters, Elaine Marie (Lawrence Kirkland) Price of Phoenix, AZ, Mia Joyce Price of Peoria, IL, and Shaya T. Price of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Lewis P. (Flora Ann) Price; and two sisters, Shela Rose Price, and Flora Ann Grady.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
