Lewis "Lou" A. Holzbach's Obituary
Lewis "Lou" A. Holzbach, Jr., age 71, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, IL. Lou was born on December 19, 1939 in Richmond, VA, a son to Lewis A. and Rosalie (Cleery) Holzbach, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He married Carol Sue Gilley in Springfield, IL. On June 30, 1986, he married Kathleen Guetterman and she survives. Lou was a mechanic at Peabody Coal Riverking Mine for several years then owned/operated Lou's Auto Repair, Belleville, IL for 40 years. He raced cars at Highland, IL and Belleville, IL in the 70's and 80's and loved deer hunting and fishing but especially loved being a grandpa. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen J. Holzbach of Coulterville, IL; three daughters, Debbie (Robert) Horvath of Fairview Heights, IL, April Agne of Coulterville, IL and Dawn Mason of Collinsville, IL; and two grandsons, Hayden Agne and Alec Horvath. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark Holzbach; a sister, Joyce Marie Bowden; and good friend, Red Miskle. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Ron Mazander officiating. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
