Lewis Feltmeyer's Obituary
Lewis M. Feltmeyer, age 77, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 6:25 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL. Lewis was born on March 21, 1932 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Frank and Ernestine E. (Strauch) Feltmeyer. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War as a Sergeant First Class. On September 30, 1961, he married Mildred E. McCune in Pinckneyville, IL and she preceded him in death on October 19, 1989. Lewis was retired from Freeman United Fidelity #11 Coal Company, a former Pinckneyville Police Officer, Pinckneyville Volunteer Fireman, owner of Feltmeyer Roofing Company, served on Pinckneyville City Council; Public Health and Safety; 1979-1983 and Street Department; 1995-1999 and currently served on Pinckneyville City Cemetery Board of Managers as sexton. Lewis was a member of the U.M.W.A., American Legion, V.F.W. and Masons. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Lewis is survived by one son: Mitchell Feltmeyer of Pinckneyville, IL, one daughter: Jeanette Feltmeyer of Alexandria, VA, one granddaughter: Amber Renee Broha of Champaign, IL, one brother: Roy Feltmeyer of Pinckneyville, IL, one sister: Gloria Pulke of Pinckneyville, IL and numerous friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister: Norma E. Feltmeyer and one brother: Frankie Feltmeyer. Graveside services will be held at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Collin Hirsh officiating.
