Lester Conner's Obituary
Lester Conner, age 72, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 2:15 p.m. in Fairview Nursing Center, DuQuoin, IL. Lester was born on March 13, 1939 in DuQuoin, IL, a son to Orel and Nettie (Short) Conner. On July 19, 1958, he married Yvette Dunson in DuQuoin, IL and she preceded him in death on November 14, 2007. Lester was employed as a truck driver at Gibharts for 4 years, Blue Bell Packing Company for 3 years and Coca-Cola Bottling Company for 15 years. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, DuQuoin, IL and enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, and race cars. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Lester is survived by two sons, Gene (Vicky) Conner of Loretto, KY and Matthew (Danielle) Conner of Tamaroa, IL; four daughters, Patsy (Wayne) Teffertiller of Tamaroa, IL, Vivian (David) Keller of Gillette, WY, Teresa Stowers (Richard Boardman) of Tamaroa, IL, and Beth Conner of DuQuoin, IL; five sisters , Violet Shelton of DuQuoin, IL, Joan (Larry) Waltermate of DuQuoin, IL, Carleen (Buddy) Parker of Smyrna, TN, Barbara (Marlin) Nevill of DuQuoin, IL, and Phyllis (Larry) Woodside of Pinckneyville, IL; eighteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and many dear nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Florence (Stevens) Conner; two sisters, Jenny Atkins and Brenda Kay Conner; and two grandsons, Dennis Wayne Dimitroff and Shawn Allen Dimitroff. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Paul Ice and Jerry Whittington officiating. The family would like to invite friends and family to a luncheon after the service at the Church of the Nazarene, DuQuoin, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Church of the Nazarene, DuQuoin, IL.
