Leroy Feltmeyer's Obituary
Leroy Feltmeyer, age 77, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 6:50 a.m. in his home.
Leroy was born on September 6, 1943 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Christian and Marie (Fisher) Feltmeyer. On December 1, 1962, he married Karen Sue Harrison in Hurst, IL and she survives. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL. Leroy had worked for GS Metals, AMAX and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 520 where he retired from. He was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman and loved gardening and spending time with family.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 58 years, Karen Feltmeyer of Pinckneyville, IL; two sons, Billy (special friend, Renee) Feltmeyer of Tamaroa, IL and Damon (Jill) Feltmeyer of Tamaroa, IL; a daughter, Melissa (Bill) Brostmeyer of Tamaroa, IL; eleven grandchildren, Annette (Chris), Amber, Debbie, Doug, Desiree, Duane II, Lindsay, Baylee, Christian, Lillie and Collin; six great-grandchildren; and five sisters, JoAnn Leathers of Carmi, IL, Thelma Bigham of Granite City, IL, Mildred (Bill) Dintelman of Nashville, IL, Rose Mary (Claude) Rains of Pinckneyville, IL and Jane (Bernard) Martin of Pinckneyville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Duane E. Feltmeyer; a granddaughter, Amanda Brostmeyer; a brother, John Feltmeyer; and two brothers-in-law, Amos Leathers and Glen Bigham.
A private family graveside service will be held. Interment will be Campbell Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
COVID-19 resurgence restrictions will be adhered to, attendance will be limited and social distancing will be enforced. All attendees are asked to wear a mask.
Memorial donations may be made to the Oncology Department at Pinckneyville Community Hospital or St. Paul United Church of Christ.
