Leonard "Whitey" Junior Heisner II's Obituary
On November 01, 2016, surrounded by family and loved ones, Leonard Junior Heisner II "Whitey" peacefully began his walk with his lord and savior. Born on March 17, 1925 to Leonard and Mary Feltmeyer Heisner, he is preceded in death by his four sisters and one brother. Brothers Nelvin W. Heisner and Eldon M. (Gloria) Bigham survive. On Aug 16, 1952 Leonard married the love of his life, Marilyn Place Heisner whom he is survived by. To this loving 64-year union was born one daughter Judy (Tom) Stotlar and three sons Leonard J. III (Karen), Jim (Cindy) and Bob (Julie) Heisner. He was blessed with 9 grandchildren: Jim Stotlar, Hillary Heisner Grupe, Leonard J. Heisner IV, Julie Stotlar Towner, Kristen Heisner Martin, Josh Heisner, Erhardt Heisner, Jimmy Heisner, Morgan Heisner, and 13 joyful great grandchildren. A WWII Marine, Whitey was proud to serve in the South Pacific. He had the honor of holding the office of Perry County Commissioner for 12 years, was past treasurer of the Marine Corps League, past Worshipful Master of Masonic Mitchell Lodge #85 AF & AM and was active in various community and fraternal organizations. He was a retired UMWA Member, past Teamster, and member of the VFW as well as American Legion. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather; Leonard will be greatly missed and remembered with love, smiles, and laughs. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Charles Boling and Reverend Cindy Bean officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL with military graveside rites by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Masonic services will be Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation.
