Leon W. Moore's Obituary
Leon W. Moore, age 73, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 3:05 p.m. in his home with his loving wife at his side. Leon was born on January 3, 1943 in Cutler, IL, a son to Arnold William and Minnie Francis (Williams) Moore. On December 2, 1961, he married Donna Heine in Pinckneyville, IL and she survives. Leon was a coal miner at Peabody Coal for 21 years and also a farmer. He was a member of Denmark Baptist Church, Cutler, IL, the UMWA and American Thresherman Association. He restored Farmall International Tractors and owned a harness shop where he built and repaired saddles. He enjoyed building VW dune buggies with his son, Randy and all of his life raised all different breeds of horses with draft horses being his favorite. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Donna Moore of Pinckneyville, IL; a son, Randall W. (Robin) Moore of Creal Springs, IL; a daughter, Rhonda (Peter) Schneider of Pinckneyville, IL; two sisters, Bernice (Max) Mathis and Brenda Cox of Pinckneyville, IL; eight grandchildren, Amber (Scott) Grabowski, Brooke Moore, Brittany Rodriguez, Bret Rodriguez, Brad Rodriguez, Peter Schneider, Jr., Caitlin (Tyler) Perry, Timothy (Rachel) Schneider; one great-granddaughter, Macey Dawn Schneider; and his dog and little buddy, Rosco. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Homer Moore and Ronald Moore; two sisters, Lavon Owen and Nancy Tipper. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Jay Lowder officiating. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
