Leo Edward Kellerman's Obituary
Leo Edward Kellerman, age 82, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday September 30, 2011 at 1:26 a.m. in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Carbondale, IL. Leo was born on April 12, 1929 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Leo Frank and Stella Mae (Hubler) Kellerman. On September 14, 1949, he married Virginia Ivory Neiderbrock at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Todd's Mill, IL and she preceded him in death on January 29, 2009. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. Leo was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Church, Todds Mill, IL and worked as a laborer for over 50 years and was a farmer. He was a member of Laborers Locals #644 and #773 and Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504, Pinckneyville, IL. Leo enjoyed spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Leo is survived by one son, Clarence S. (Melanie) Kellerman, Sr. of Tamaroa, IL; two daughters, Sherry K. (Lawrence) Bartnicki of Nashville, IL and Cynthia S. (Robert, Sr.) Ferrari of Pinckneyville, IL; one brother, Bert (Mary Ann) Kellerman of Cape Girardeau, MO; one sister, Doris Rice of Pinckneyville, IL; mother-in-law, Freda Haggard of Pinckneyville, IL; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several dear nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one sister, Mary Louise Bergfeld; one nephew, Greg Bergfeld; one niece, Marsha Rice; and two brother-in-laws, Jake Bergfeld and Don Rice. Funeral mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Todds Mill, IL on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Bernard Goedde and Father James Van Oss officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin, IL. Military honors will be provided by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. The rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or VNA-Tip
