Lawrence Herman 'Larry' Rabe, age 76, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away Saturday morning, November 1, 2008, in Des Peres, MO. Larry was born June 7, 1932 in Pinckneyville, IL, the son of Henry F. and Ernestine A. (Mayer) Rabe. Larry was united in marriage to his wife of 52 years, Mary Etta Koss on April 7, 1956 in DuQuoin, IL at the First Christian Church and she survives. Larry was a retired coal miner for Consolidated Coal and a member of the UMWA. Larry was a member of the United Methodist Church of Pinckneyville, IL, enjoyed growing roses and his antique cars. Larry is survived by his wife Mary Etta Rabe of Pinckneyville, IL, two sons, Dwight (Marian) Rabe of San Antonio, TX, Dennis (Karen Rubrich) Rabe of Auburn, IL, a brother, Hank (Trudy) Rabe of Pinckneyville, IL, a sister, Irene ( Bob) Davis of Taylorville, IL, grandchildren, Dustin Willis of Ann Arbor, MI, Ashley Willis of Belleville, IL, William Rabe of San Antonio, TX, Brian and Benjamin Rabe of Auburn, IL. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Ernestine Miesner. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning, November 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL with Pastor Jim Barnett officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at the Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and then on Tuesday morning at the Church from 9:00 a.m. until Services. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
