Lavada "Hap" Boyd's Obituary
Lavada "Hap" Boyd, age 93, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 8:21 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL. Hap was born on June 9, 1923 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Fred J. and Mary G. (Harris) Kiehn. On January 3, 1945, she married John C. Boyd in Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on May 9, 1982. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL where she was in the Women's Missionary Union, taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Hap was a member of the Eastern Star and Pinckneyville Women's Club, served as Den Mother for the Boy Scouts and was a Girl Scout Leader. She and her husband were active in the V.F.W. and Illinois State Police Association. She always enjoyed crafts, sewing, and reading and loved her kids. Survivors include her son, Michael "Mike" (Deanna) Boyd of DuQuoin, IL; two daughters, Diane (John) Waite of Grand Junction, CO and Sally Ann Boyd of Pinckneyville, IL; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Ferrari, Shelley (Billy) Feltmeyer, Christopher (Sue) Boyd, Karlie (Jeff) Ogilvie, Dustin (Deanna) Hardin, Andrea Hardin, Erin Waite, Joanna (Richard) Rodriguez and Kristina (Luke) Wrobleski; fifteen great-grandchildren, Kayce Morgan, Jordan Boyd, Lindsay Feltmeyer, Baylee Feltmeyer, Lucas Boyd, Madison Wrobleski, Emily Wrobleski, Natalie Rodriguez, Chase Rodriguez, Trista Ogilvie, Hailey Ogilvie, Quentin Cuevas, Cora Hardin, Brandon Ferrari and Rebecca Ferrari; a nephew, James Boyd; and a niece, Judy Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister in infancy, Leota Kiehn. Celebration of life services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Jay Lowder and Reverend Charles Boling officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Backpack Program, Pinckneyville, IL or the Perry County Humane Society, DuQuoin, IL. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of arrangements.
