Larry D. Heggemeier's Obituary
Larry D. Heggemeier, age 72, of Swanwick, IL passed away in his home at 11:50 a.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2014. Larry was born on June 28, 1942 in Swanwick, IL at his family home, a son to Elmer C. and Minnie Louise (Bingel-Stough) Heggemeier. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Larry was raised Catholic and worked as a coal miner, retiring after 30 years from Zeigler #11, Coulterville, IL. He was a very proud member of the U.M.W.A. and member of V.F.W. Post #6865, Coulterville, IL. Larry enjoyed hunting and sports, especially Rams football, St. Louis Cardinals and was an avid NASCAR fan. Survivors include three brothers, Dale E. (Lois) Heggemeier of Coulterville, IL, Wilbur A. (Virginia) Heggemeier of Coulterville, IL and Wayne (Kelly) Heggemeier of New Athens, IL; six nephews, Kevin Heggemeier, Glen Heggemeier, Douglas Heggemeier, David Heggemeier, James Heggemeier and Wayne Heggemeier, Jr.; ten nieces, Tanya Heggemeier, Tina Gross, Patricia Lydiksen, Connie Vogt, Tracy Brees, Stephanie Heggemeier, Misty Heggemeier, Leslie Daab, Julie Gerling and Jamie Heggemeier; and very dear childhood friend, Warren "Bunk" Holtz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer C. Heggemeier and Minnie Louise Stough; two brothers, Donald D. Heggemeier and Earl R. Heggemeier and step-father, Harry Stough. Funeral services will be held Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Hahn officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made Coulterville V.F.W. Post #6865, Coulterville, IL.
