Larry Paul Cook's Obituary
Larry Paul Cook, age 59, of Tilden, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. in Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, IL. Larry was born on December 17, 1950 in DuQuoin, IL, a son to Ralph Paul and Dolores Odell (Malott) Cook. On September 24, 1982, he married Evelyn Rainey in Coulterville, IL and she survives. Larry was a coal miner and worked for Peabody Coal Company for 20 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL and the U.M.W.A. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and was an avid sports fan, especially Cardinal's Baseball. Larry loved spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Larry is survived by his wife, Evelyn Cook of Tilden, IL; mother, Dolores Cook of Coulterville, IL; three sons, Jeremy Cook of St. Petersburg, FL; Jeffrey Cook and Jarrad Cook, both of Tilden, IL; two daughters, Hollie Gimber of Murphysboro, IL and Tara Gimber of St. Louis, MO; three sisters, Susan (Robert) Bruce of Vienna, VA, Kristi (Gary) Orto of Newbern, TN , and Danette (Gary) Craig of St. Charles, MO; two grandchildren, Joshua Cook of St. Petersburg, FL and Lorien Wilkerson of Murphysboro, IL; and several uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Carol Sue Cook. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Coulterville United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Eunjoo Lee officiating. Interment will be in Tilden Cemetery, Tilden, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Coulterville United Methodist Church Mission Fund or Tilden School Scholarship Fund
