Kevin Luke's Obituary
John Kevin Luke, age 44, of Pinckneyville, IL, died Thursday afternoon, April 5, 2007, at his home. Kevin was born on April 6, 1962 in Pinckneyville, a son of Richard Neil "Dick" and Geraldine E. "Gerre" (Mentel) Luke. He was co-owner of the former Luke's Family Market, Pinckneyville, was formerly employed by Perry County Market Place, Pinckneyville, and was assistant food production manager at SIU-C. Kevin was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, a Third Degree member of Knights of Columbus #2921, Pinckneyville, an avid golfer, enjoyed playing the guitar, cooking, fishing, and his grandchildren. Survivors include his sons: Nathan, and his fiancée, Angie, of Pinckneyville, Ryan, and his wife, Zoe, of Palm Beach Garden, FL, and Neil of Pinckneyville, their mother: Lisa (Luke) Giacomo, and her husband, Kenny, of Pinckneyville, three brothers: Richard A. "Rick" Luke, and his wife, Cindy, of Houston, TX, James O. "Jim" Luke, and his wife, Amy, of Dallas, TX, Bill Luke, and his wife, Darla, of Pinckneyville, four sisters: Connie Cline of Charlotte, NC, Jeanette Smyth, and her husband, Jeff, of Pinckneyville, Amy Stotlar of Pinckneyville, Mary Monahan, and her husband, J. T., of Seattle, WA, three grandchildren: Baylee Helbig, Abbigail Helbig, and Mason Luke, all of Pinckneyville, a special friend: Jamie Wynn, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bruno Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Barker officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Monday, April 9, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. till 9:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to the family of Kevin Luke.
