Kenneth R. Robinson, Sr., age 84, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 4:58 a.m. in Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, IL. Kenneth was born on April 27, 1933 in Coulterville, IL, a son to Raymond G. and Mary Jane (Vuichard) Robinson. On August 16, 1952, he married Peggy Lou Newsom in Sparta, IL and she survives. They shared 64 years of marriage. He had worked for General Motors and was a member of Teamsters Local 50. Kenneth was ordained as a deacon and then was ordained to preach the gospel in 1984. He was the pastor at the First Baptist Church in Coulterville until health problems forced him to quit. He was always working on a project at the church and preformed lots of weddings and funerals. He was a member of the Nine Mile Baptist Association. In recent years, Kenneth enjoyed mowing grass with his zero turn mower. He loved his family. Survivors include his wife, Peggy; three children, Susan K. (Larry) Grab of Steeleville, IL, Kenneth R. (Kathy) Robinson, Jr. of Coulterville, IL, and Donald Robinson of Pinckneyville, IL; one brother, David (Betty) Robinson of Coulterville, IL; nine grandchildren, Andrew Grab, Tracy Allard, Dustin R. Robinson, Daniel Robinson, Christopher Robinson, Clinton Robinson, Kaci Robinson, Kyle Robinson, and Beth Ann Robinson; and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry Robinson and James Richard Robinson; one sister, Emma Douglas; and one brother-in-law, William Douglas. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Tim McIntyre officiating. Interment will be in Swanwick Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Coulterville, IL.
