Kenneth M. Hutchings' Obituary
Kenneth M. Hutchings, age 89, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 2:20 p.m. in Washington County Hospital Extended Care, Nashville, IL. Kenneth was born on October 26, 1920, a son to Richard and Anna (McCune) Hutchings. Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Army Air Corp during WW II, attaining the rank of Sergeant. On February 15, 1947, he married Lelia Weisel in Carbondale, IL and she preceded him in death on October 27, 1987. He later married Marian Williamson on November 11, 1989 in Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and she preceded him in death on December 11, 1990. He was farmer for over 50 years and a member of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL. Kenneth enjoyed his time spent on the farm and taking care of his cattle. He was a hardworking family man and his grandchildren were the light of his life. He is survived by three daughters, Dixie (Richard) Morgenthaler and Suzanne (David) Keller, all of Pinckneyville, IL; and Carol Jean (Daniel) Moore of Jerseyville, IL; one brother, Paul (Dorothy) Hutchings of Burlington, NC; one sister, Vera (Marvin) Pulley of Marion, IL; one brother-in-law, Gilbert Schreiner of Coalinga, CA; five grandsons, David (Lisa) Leehy of Glen Carbon, IL, Jeffery Keller and Greg Morgenthaler (Amy Bozeman), all of Pinckneyville, IL, Brian (Marcia) Keller of Nashville, IL and Matt (Jill) Keller of Pinckneyville, IL; eight great-grandchildren, Jaime Keller, Megan Keller, Dylan Keller, Aubrey Keller, Andrew Morgenthaler, Shelby Morgenthaler, Elizabeth Leehy and Luke Leehy; and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; two sisters, Nomabel O'Neil and Flora Schreiner and one brother-in-law, Burdell O'Neil. Funeral services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis and Brother Tim Bauersachs officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois Team, Orange South.
