Kay West's Obituary
Harriet "Kay" West, age 83, of Lebanon, IL, formerly of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in Lebanon Care Center, Lebanon, IL.
Kay was born on April 26, 1936 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to William Geltz and Helen (Quackenbush) Templeton. On September 27, 1970, she married Robert West in the First United Presbyterian Church, Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on July 9, 2008. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Pinckneyville, IL and had worked over 40 years as a legal secretary. Kay was also a member of the Women's Club and participated in working on the Mardi Gras Queen's float and coronation for several years. She was a beloved mother and grandmother, and devoted wife and caretaker to her husband, Bob. She was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying the St. Louis Cardinals. Her greatest joy was cooking for her family, who enjoyed many holidays and birthdays around her dining room table. She also loved working puzzles and playing Bingo with her friends at Lebanon Care Center. The family would like to thank the staff at Lebanon Care Center for their loving care and support of Kay over the past five years.
Survivors include her three children, Donna (Henry) Neicamp of O'Fallon, IL; Jeffery (Sandy) West of Pinckneyville, IL and Natalie (Randy) Ellington of O'Fallon, IL; a brother-in-law, Glen Hamilton of Pinckneyville, IL; eight grandchildren, Leanne (Dan) Simmons, Robyn Neicamp, Alexander (Jessica) West, Ashlee West, Abigail West, Emma Ellington, Tessa Ellington, and Kyla Ellington; one great-grandchild, Conner Simmons; several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly; and many other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert West; and three sisters, Marjorie Hamilton, Alice Sutliff and Jeanette (Carl) Sprenger.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Sam Foskey officiating. Interment will be at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL, Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
